In B&NES in 2007/08 there were 2153 domestic abuse incidents reported to the police. It is well known that this figure is the tip of an iceberg and research shows that only one third of domestic incidents are reported. On average 2 women per week are killed by a violent partner or ex-partner in England and Wales. In 90% of incidents involving domestic abuse, children are in the same or next room.

Bath Next Link Domestic Abuse Services is a new service that is addressing this issue and is offering a range of services to women and children experiencing domestic abuse to help them come forward and get the support they need.
