RAISING AWARENESS: We’ve been organising and attending events to get people talking about women’s mental health, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The highlight for us was our Information Sharing Event for Bristol Women’s Services. This was an opportunity to find out about women’s services in Bristol with guest speakers, light refreshments and agencies providing services for women in Bristol exhibiting information. Our annual candlelit vigil to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was a great success.

Thanks to Sue Mountstevens, Police and Crime Commissioner, for leading our march and to everyone who came along and supported it. We chose this occasion to launch our zero tolerance pledge.

AND THE AWARD GOES TO… The IRISi team receive the University of Bristol Vice Chancellor’s Impact Award for Policy and Practice.

Next Link are always looking for innovative ways to tackle domestic violence. They have worked closely with Professor Gene Feder and his team since the launch of the IRIS Project, running the first pilot scheme.

Big thanks to Bristol Hash Harriers for making us one of their 2017 Bristol Hash Charities and raising the fantastic sum of £637.

As part of our Deeds Not Words program, Bristol Women’s voice are commemorating the centenary of some women's suffrage by running an event for girls to experience hands-on engineering-related activities on the SS Great Britain in the new Brunel museum. Come along and join in!
